precision Endoscope apertures
Endoscopy
For over 30 years, Opto-Line has specialized in providing the highest quality apertures for medical endoscopes and laparoscopes.
Typically utilizing our proprietary low-reflecting black chrome, our apertures have become the benchmark for endoscope manufacturers. Our black chrome is very durable, low-reflecting in visible with Rave <5% , OD > 4.0. Excellent edge acuity and accuracy (± 1μm). We can also deposit other required materials such as high reflective protected aluminum, gold, etc.
The smallest aperture size we’re able to resolve is about 2μm.
Most endoscopy aperture customers require AR coatings on both surfaces. We often utilize low-scatter BBAR <1% Rave in the visible, but we can address each customers’ needs on a project by project basis. Standard optical density is 4.0 Vis but can be increased to our clients’ own specifications.
Opto-Line International uses a proprietary method of fabricating the entire aperture part. The centricity and accuracy are of utmost criticality to our customers and we exceed these requirements.
An endoscope is an illuminated optical instrument (a type of borescope) used to look deep into the body and used in procedures called an endoscopy. Endoscopy is the insertion of a long, thin tube directly into the body to observe an internal organ or tissue in detail. It can also be used to carry out other tasks including imaging and minor surgery. Endoscopes are minimally invasive and can be inserted into the openings of the body. Alternatively, they can be inserted into small incisions, for instance, in the knee or abdomen.
Because modern endoscopy has relatively few risks, delivers detailed images, and is quick to carry out, it has proven incredibly useful in many areas of medicine. Today, tens of millions of endoscopies are carried out each year.
High Quality Aperatures for Medical Endoscopes
The smallest aperture size we’re able to resolve is about 2um. Typical substrates inclue N-BK7, B270, D263, fused silica, sapphire, but we can use other specified material as well. Typical aperture coating utilizes our proprietary black chrome: Very durable, low reflecting in visible with Rave <5% , OD > 4.0. Pinhole free. Excellent edge acuity and accuracy (± 1um). We can also deposit other required materials such as high reflective protected aluminum, gold, etc.
- Glass thickness: Minimum we can handle is ~ 0.10 mm thickness
- Requirements: Most endoscopy aperture customers requires AR coatings on both surfaces. We often utilitize low-scatter BBAR <1% Rave in visible, but we can address each customers’ needs on a project by project basis.
Endoscopy is a nonsurgical procedure used to examine a person’s digestive tract. Using an endoscope, a flexible tube with a light and camera attached to it, your doctor can view pictures of your digestive tract on a color TV monitor.
